Macros Broken After Updating ikuTeam Files for Confluence

Problem:

After updating ikuTeam Files for Confluence to the latest version, you may notice that existing macros on your pages look broken, and the native Confluence attachment macro has disappeared from the macro browser. Only cloud storage macros (SharePoint, Google Drive, and similar) are still showing up.

This is expected, not a bug. It's a result of ikuTeam Files moving from the Connect platform to Forge, and it comes with a clear fix below.

What you'll notice:

  • Existing macros on Confluence pages appear broken or fail to load

  • The "Confluence attachments" macro is missing from the macro browser

  • Only cloud storage macros (SharePoint, Google Drive, etc.) are available

Why this happened

ikuTeam Files for Confluence now focuses exclusively on cloud storage integrations, SharePoint, Google Drive, Dropbox, Box, and Egnyte. Native Confluence attachment support has moved to its own dedicated app: ikuTeam Office for Confluence.

The good news: getting your macros back takes just a few minutes.

How to fix it:

The ikuTeam Files for Confluence app has transitioned to focus exclusively on cloud storage integrations (SharePoint, Google Drive, Dropbox, Box, and Egnyte). Support for native Confluence attachments has been moved to a dedicated app called ikuTeam Office for Confluence.

To restore your macros and continue using native Confluence attachment features, follow these steps:

  1. Install ikuTeam Office for Confluence:

  2. Migrate Your Macros:

    • You can migrate your existing macros from ikuTeam Files to the new app with a single click.

    • You can bring your existing macros over from ikuTeam Files in a single click. Follow the steps in our Advanced Options guide to import your data.

  3. Uninstall ikuTeam Files (Optional):

    • If ikuTeam Files was only being used for Confluence attachments, and you don't need cloud storage integrations like SharePoint or Drive, it's safe to uninstall it once your migration to ikuTeam Office is complete.
