When the "Require authentication" option is active, users must authenticate to each folder connected by other users to browse folders and preview and edit documents. This applies to the file manager and macros on pages.

Connected folders in the File manager

The connected folders will show an "Authenticate" button for every folder the user hasn't connected yet, and they won't be able to open the folder or make changes until they do.

Authenticating a folder

  1. Click the "Authenticate" button.

  2. If you already have at least one account connected from the same storage place, a modal opens where you can choose one or connect to a new place. If there isn't any suitable account connected, the sign-in screen for that account opens directly.

  3. A confirmation message appears if the account selected has access to the folder.

All done. You can now use the folder according to the permissions set for it.

If the account selected doesn't have access to the folder, an error appears with the option to connect to a different account.

De-authenticating a folder

After authenticating to a folder/file with an account, removing the access is possible if needed (e.g., for authenticating with a different account).

  1. Click the "···" button

  2. Click the "Sign out" option

  3. A modal will appear. Click "Sign out" to confirm.

All done. To view the folder's content, you'll need to authenticate again.
