Getting Started with GitHub Repo Links

Take the very first steps to use the GitHub Repo Links app.


Installing the app

You can install the GitHub Repo Links app from the Atlassian Marketplace by clicking the “Get it now” button on the top right corner of the page.

Setting up the app

Once the app is installed on your project, you can link the app to a GitHub repository.

Instructions:

  1. Open Project Settings from Jira’s sidebar;

  2. Go to Apps, and click the GitHub Repo Links app;

  3. Paste a link to a GitHub Repository in the text field and click “Link repository”;

  4. Authenticate with your GitHub account;

  5. [Optional] Select which categories will be available on Jira issues.

All done. Now, you can access information from the linked repository from your Jira project.

You can only link a repository at a time. The “Unlink repository” is in the context menu next to the repository details.


Using the app

On an issue page, click the Apps button and select “GitHub Repo Links” to add the app. The app loads in a few moments, and you can now access all the categories selected in the app setup.
