Editing files with Excel for Confluence
Learn how to edit a spreadsheet using Excel for Confluence.
About editing files
You can edit spreadsheets on pages without downloading to edit and re-uploading multiple copies or locking other people out while editing the document.
Editing an Excel Spreadsheet
You can edit spreadsheets attached to your pages in two ways:
Inline editing: you can click the spreadsheet on your page and start editing directly, if the option isn’t turned off for the macro.
Full-screen editing: click the “Edit” button (also available in the full-screen preview) and the spreadsheet opens in edit mode.
Real-time collaboration
Excel for Confluence supports real-time collaboration, and it's effortless to use.
Start editing a spreadsheet attached to a page. When another person clicks to edit the same file, the editor seamlessly creates a collaboration session. You can continue to edit the file as before and leave it anytime by closing the browser tab.
Supported file formats for edit
Excel and OpenOffice Spreadsheets
Permissions
To be able to edit attachments, please check if you have the correct permissions defined on Confluence. You’ll need to be able to edit the page.
